About the Role

At Lupyd, we are building a social platform focused on performance, privacy, and real-time interaction. Our backend uses Rust, WebSockets, and PostgreSQL/Redis, with TypeScript and React/Astro on the frontend. As a Software Developer, you will work across features—writing backend services, designing database schemas, building APIs, and implementing client interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Rust, Node.js/TypeScript, and REST/gRPC.
  • Build responsive web interfaces using TypeScript, React, and Astro.
  • Improve real-time messaging, notifications, and data streaming performance.
  • Design and maintain database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Implement authentication protocols and data access policies.
  • Write automated tests and benchmarks to ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with design and product teammates on feature requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficiency in languages such as Rust, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Go.
  • Experience building backend services, RESTful APIs, WebSockets, or gRPC endpoints.
  • Frontend experience with TypeScript and modern frameworks (React, Vite, or Astro).
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching (Redis).
  • Understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and network fundamentals.
  • Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Rust web frameworks (Tokio, Axum, Actix-web).
  • Experience with message queues or event streams (Kafka, Redis Streams).
  • Familiarity with WebRTC or real-time communication protocols.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization.
  • Contributions to open-source software.
